The phinisi ship is an authentic Indonesian ship, specifically from the Sulawesi region. Currently, many ship operators in Labuan Bajo are competing to provide more amenities on phinisi ships. There are a variety of phinisi boats available in Labuan Bajo. The facilities and size of the ship are what distinguishes one from another. Of course, the price will vary. The beauty of Labuan Bajo is unforgettable. Every moment and experience is imprinted on the memory. However, what makes the luxury liveaboard Komodo trip unique is that you can help save the Earth. You also get a full 3-day 2 nights experience in one of the most beautiful areas in East Nusa Tenggara!

Sailing with a phinisi is ideal for those looking for a relaxing vacation that is not rushed. Fast boats, on the other hand, are a better option if vacation time is limited. Phinisi, on the other hand, is ideal for island hopping, or traveling from one island to another in a relaxed manner. These islands are located along the Sape Strait, which connects Flores Island’s Bajo to Sumbawa. Rinca, Padar, and Komodo are the three main islands that you must visit if you are traveling to Labuan Bajo.

The facilities provided vary according to the level of luxury of the ship, but in general, the phinisi boats available for tourism in Labuan Bajo are quite comfortable. The crew usually consists of the captain, tour guide, cook, and a few other people. The bare necessities are sleeping cabins with air conditioning, bathrooms, and onboard dining.

Imagine having dinner on the luxury liveaboard Komodo while looking right, left, in front, and behind you at the clear blue sea and a group of beautiful islands. It is not impossible, and the view of other phinisi ships that have stopped in the middle of the sea adds to the stunning scenery. Don’t worry about food spilling from the table due to the swaying of the waves; the captain will usually look for calm seas.

On Komodo Island, tourists will also dive and snorkel. The underwater world of Komodo Island and the Komodo National Park area is very beautiful. In fact, it is one of the best dive sites in the world. The underwater world of Komodo Island has about 386 types of coral reefs, 70 types of sponges, and seaweed as a home for thousands of species of fish, and green turtles. There are six different types of whales, sharks, and rays, as well as ten different types of dolphins.

The climate around Komodo National Park tends to be dry, this makes the hill land drier and rocky. No wonder this area is very suitable to be used as a trekking area because the hills are quite steep and challenging. Even so, the exotic land in Komodo National Park blends perfectly with the beauty of the sea so charming.

Meet The Dragon, the world’s largest lizard species

Komodo Island is very famous in foreign countries, even being named the new seven wonders of nature in 2013, which is an award for the seven best natural tourist attractions in the world. Komodo Island is the largest island in the Komodo Archipelago, which is the only island inhabited by local people.

Other animals that tourists may encounter while trekking include horses, deer, various bird species, snakes, and monitor lizards. Because there are snakes that live underground, it is preferable to wear boots. Tourists will also pass through the water hole, which is a resting and drinking spot for dragons while trekking. Tourists can observe Komodo dragons drinking and resting under the trees surrounding the water hole.

The length of the trekking path is 1-8 kilometers, according to the chosen trekking route, namely short, medium, long, and adventure. If tourists choose long and adventure trekking, they will explore beautiful forests, rivers, and hills. Meanwhile, for short trekking, the trip ends on top of the hills with an amazing view of the bay. However, the four trekking routes pass through the water hole.

To get around or trekking, you must be accompanied by a ranger, namely a Komodo dragon guide and handler, called a ranger, for the safety of tourists. Ranger will provide tourists with a stick with a forked end, which is made of one type of tree as a ‘weapon’ to weaken the Komodo dragon. If the Komodo dragon attacks, the end of the forked stick is used to press the dragon’s neck so that in a short time the dragon will weaken and stop attacking.

Staying in All-Inclusive Resorts in Benoa Bali: Traveller Tips!

Look for the Right Resorts

A lot of travelers we know enjoy a holiday in resorts when they were visiting Bali. It’s easy to see why. Resorts offers an uninterrupted vacation and lets you enjoy the whole week doing a whole lot of nothing. It’s the perfect place to spend a holiday if you are not in the mood of exploration especially if you’re just looking for some time off and break from the daily hustles. You can find some of the best resorts in Bali around Benoa, Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Sanur, and Ubud—but the Benoa part is our favourite because of its secluded location.

So here are some useful tips for the best stay experience in a beach resorts in Bali that you can do for your next holiday!

Look for the Right Resorts for You in Bali

Because not all resorts are made equal, you should always do your research before visiting. An all-inclusive package can be a wonderful value, but if you don’t know what you’re receiving for your money, the expenditures can quickly pile up. Seek out destinations that offer true all-inclusive packages. Personally, I opt for a resort that offers a diverse range of activities. It’s equally crucial to pay attention to what happens at night. Do you enjoy dancing beneath the stars? Or would you rather see a Broadway show? Every resort has its own unique set of amenities. What’s more, these activities are frequently included, so you won’t have to pay anything extra out of pocket.

Pack Light—But Also Pack Smart for Your Vacation in Benoa Resorts Bali

You might be tempted to pack a bag with a few bathing suits, tank tops, and shorts, but you’ll need a few more items. Remember to bring some fancier evening attire, such as a sundress or a collared shirt, with you. Don’t forget to bring a sweater for the evenings, as even in tropical climates, it can get a little chilly outside. It’s also a good idea to bring a rain jacket or an umbrella because, as much as we don’t want to think about it, it’s always possible that it will rain.

Don’t Forget Sunscreen & Bug Spray!

Staying in All-Inclusive Resorts in Benoa Bali: Traveller Tips!

One of our favorite all-around suggestions may seem obvious, but it’s easy to overlook. If you run out of sunscreen while on vacation, you’ll almost certainly have to pay a premium to replenish it. The resort is well aware that it has a captive audience, thus toiletries such as sunblock will be overcharged. It’s always a good idea to bring more than you think you’ll need. Don’t forget to pack some insect spray while you’re at it! There may be mosquitoes on your resort, and you don’t want to catch dengue fever or worse, malaria on your vacation.

Always Bring Your Version of First Aid Kit

Even if you won’t be doing any risky activities on the Benoa resort, bringing a first aid kit is usually a smart idea. In the very least bring some Advil, Imodium, Pepto, and even Benedryl. In an unknown environment, you could develop an allergic reaction to something. A gastrointestinal disease is the most common ailment at a resort. You’ll feel better without ruining your tropical vacation if you carry Imodium or comparable tummy-settling medications. One of my favorite all-inclusive resort money-saving ideas and hacks is to bring a tiny first-aid kit. Yes, you will be able to purchase these medications at the resort, but they will almost certainly be significantly more expensive than they are at home.

Indulge Yourself in Moderation

Who can resist a glass of cold tropical cocktail when you are staying in Bali resorts? It’s tempting to eat and drink anything that comes your way. However, you’ll only get a stomach pain or become ill, neither of which are appealing possibilities when on vacation. Allow me to be the voice of reason in this situation. Don’t overindulge. Don’t consume too much alcohol. Allow yourself a small amount of indulgence, but do so in moderation. You don’t want to overfill your plate and end up wasting half of it. You also don’t want to spend half of your vacation drowsy from too much sun and drink. Because you’re on vacation, take advantage of everything. But don’t go overboard!

Get Your Spot

Here’s the bitter reality of staying in a popular Bali beach resorts in Benoa. You get up, eat breakfast, and proceed to the pool, only to discover that every single beach chairs and lounges is occupied. Plan ahead of time and arrive first thing in the morning to secure your spot. Wake up, eat a light breakfast, and head to the beach to take your space beneath a the coconut tree for the bes shade. Throughout the day, you can take a break for breakfast, lunch, or a swim. However, don’t be that person that claim their spot for 8 hours but not using it even once!

Get Out from the Resort!

It’s usually a good idea to explore more of the place you’re visiting while you’re there for a relaxed beach vacation. Get out of the resort. View the destination’s natural surroundings or adjacent cities. All-inclusive resorts are massive man-made complexes that rarely reflect the culture of the nation you’re visiting. You’ll learn something new, connect more with the locals, and contribute to the local economy by leaving the resort. There are so many things to do in Bali! Visit temples, see abandoned airplanes, walk in different beaches in each morning and each sunsets, explore the waterfalls, and many more!

Ready to Go for Dive Trip? Go in Small Group

Finally, the most exciting part! You gonna jump to the underwater, meet the fishes, and observe the marine life up close. Due to the new surrounding and challengers, many new divers tend to feel safer to dive with large group in their debut days. Although diving in a group can provide you with a sense of security, however, a large group can be challenging for the instructor to handle. At the very least, try to travel in a group of six to eight people.

Have Anti-Nausea Pills Ready

Not many beginner divers know how helpful anti-nausea pill is. Diving trip frequently involve a boat ride. Some divers become dizzy—or seasick—when the boat moves too much. If you suspect this might happen to you, take tablets. It’s possible to vomit underwater, but it’s not exactly a pleasurable sensation.

Fact of Lizard King on Top Komodo Tours

Fact of Lizard King on Top Komodo Tours

The core zone of the Komodo National Park is the Rinca island region. If you are in Top Komodo Tours you will realize that the area is a protected zone. In the sense that it is not allowed to change human activities in it, except for science, research, or education. The ancient animal habitat has indeed made Komodo and Rinca islands the most attractive destinations. Until the management was rumored to have agreed on a project similar to Jurassic Park on Rinca island.

It is also reported that the minister of environment and forestry has implemented safety principles related to the use of heavy equipment at the project site. Until there was a Savekomodo hashtag. Had circulated and became viral a photo in the middle of the project was running. Where there is a truck carrying iron trellis is stopped in the middle of the savanna and is blocked by one of the lizard kings, Komodo Dragons.

Top Komodo Tours on Rinca Island

Komodo dragons that live on this island are indeed more aggressive than other islands around it. The reason is that Indonesia’s tropical weather makes Rinca’s savanna dominated land hotter. The characteristics of the geographical conditions make our lizard king different, even though its size is not as big as Komodo in other places. Because these ancient animals belong to the carnivorous group, in Top Komodo Tours you will find some important rules.

Like menstruating women, it is not recommended to travel to lizard king’s place. The reason is, this lizard king is very happy to smell the smell of blood and is always too attracted to his attention by the smell of blood that is not fresh. However, even though there is no official prohibition. It is better for women who are menstruating to keep their distance from the lizard king and stay with a group and the guide.

The lizard king is not just a reckless beast. But this ancient lizard does have a very aggressive but patient slow lethal tactic. Although they can run at a speed of twenty kilometers per hour, they prefer to set traps in search of food. And the Komodo Dragons do not immediately eat its prey that is in a trap. Instead, these animals will kill its prey and leave it until it is surrounded by flying insects. Because the lizard king prefers to eat meat with the unfresh blood.

The Great Lizard King on his Podium

Since the year two thousand eleven, UNESCO has designated Komodo Dragons as a one of the world heritage sites that must be preserved. Also as the seven wonders of the world. The assessment is based on the voting results of the entire world community. Komodo island was discovered in nineteen and ten, and it was Steyn Van Hensbroek who had named it. At that time the numbers were still around two thousand five hundred.

Efforts to maintain this world heritage have indeed teased a lot of gossip, as well as criticism of its management, as well as the Indonesian government. However, in two thousand and seventeen, National Geographic determined that Komodo island was one of the ten best tourists attractions in the world.

Best Shark Diving in Bali: Where to Meet the Beasts!

When you have more dives to notes in your dive logs and spent few holidays exploring underwater, you will start wondering if it’s possible to dedicate dives for meeting one of the ocean beast; the sharks. The most misunderstood fish thanks to Hollywood movies; sharks remain as one of the most feared fish despite its incredibly small fatalities. Aside from the highly aggressive Oceanic Whitetip Shark, Bull Shark, and Great White Shark, sharks are mostly harmless—and are totally wholesome! These are where you can meet sharks and have the best diving in Bali

Best, Remotest Diving in Bali for Shark: the Gili Biaha

Best Shark Diving in Bali: Where to Meet the Beasts!

Nicknamed the Shark Cave, it’s easy to imagine why Gili Biaha will be your best diving experience with sharks in Bali. Gili Biaha is a small rock island rounded by grass outcrop in the tip of Candidasa, the eastern side of Bali. The site hosts two dive sites; the Biaha Slope and Shark Cave that can be combined in one diving when the currents allow. Dropping only 12 meters from the surface, you will arrive at the cave. It’s surrounded by soft corals, black corals, and gorgonians that make up the gorgeous underwater landscape. Though the cave lies in pretty shallow depth, getting there is not easy. The site is famous with strong currents that can be dangerous for inexperienced divers. But once you get inside the cave, you will see numerous white-tip sharks sleeping inside, tucked comfortably in the crevices. The cave is sharks’ favourite spot to get relaxed after hunting in the night before. They are mostly calm and not aggressive—unless they smell some food in your pocket!

Near the Wreck: Shark Point Tulamben

Gili Mimpang: Best for Rarer Sharks

You might know Tulamben for its legendary USAT Liberty wreck, that lies only in 3 to 25 meters from the surface. But have you ever heard of Shark Point in Tulamben? Located close to the Drop Off, the Shark Point is located within 20 – 30 meters deep from the surface. That means this dive site, just like the Gili Biaha, is reserved only for experienced divers. It’s probably the best diving site in Bali if you want to see white tip sharks, black tip sharks, and grey reef sharks all in one place. While the black tip and white tip generally show no aggression, grey reef sharks can be quite cranky. They can feel annoyed and threatened upon being followed. So definitely keep your distance and do not make startling movement when you come to their area. Keep an eye if they show signs of aggression; arching their back and dorsal fin to appear larger, and swimming side to side with exaggerated movement. When they do this, keep calm and slowly back away, but never turn your back from them.

The Black tip reef sharks also regularly patrol around the Tulamben Drop off at any given time. Thriving marine life in Drop Off invites the sharks for easy meal, which is why these majestic creatures are often found lurking around. The slow currents and relatively shallow depth make this site excellent for beginners and even snorkelers as well. One of the best diving with shark in Bali where you can wait for the toothy creature while admiring blooming corals on the wall.

The White tip and black tip reef sharks are the most popular in Bali and are quite easy to be spotted everywhere. However, if you want to see rarer sharks that cannot be spotted in other sites in Bali, head to Gili Mimpang. Located close to Gili Biaha and Tepekong that’s famous for the shark cave, Gili Mimpang makes an excellent vantage point for shark sighting. You can expect the regular white tip and black tip swimming around, but if you look closer, you might notice the lazy, carpet-like Wobbegong Shark hiding under reef rock. The colour of this sharks resemble corals and they have whiskers around their face and mouth which looks just like carpet’s tassels. You might also spot Cat Shark, a small shark that stay inside holes and crevices on reefs. These sharks eat small invertebrates and totally harmless to human!

The Surreal Exoticism of Padar Island

There are few places in the earth where the view is an absolute bless. Padar is one of them. Jagged mountain and hills make up the topography of this island, stretched out facing the Flores Sea. Four crescent beaches, each blessed with different colour of sands formed just right in the foothill. The top viewpoint is the place where you want to see it all. Once you reach the top, however, you will be rewarded by breathtaking panoramic scenery overlooking the Komodo National Park! Take your moment to savour the exotic landscape. It’s not everyday you can take a selfie in a stunning backdrop like this.

There’s No Manmade Building in Sight
